@raigekimaru I think the issue is: what are people defining as dramatic coloraturas? The way I see it there are two types. One is if you almost separate coloratura sopranos and sopranos as separate voice types and dramatic coloraturas are a fach of coloratura (with a weight similar to a lyric soprano). These are your Mozart dramatic coloraturas. Then there are those that are really dramatic sopranos who sing coloratura passages. These are your Verdi "dramatic coloraturas" like Lady Macbeth

people say diana damrau and edita gruberova are "dramatic" coloraturas, but I certainly don't think so. many singers sing dramatic coloratura roles, but that does not make them true dramatic coloratura sopranos
