You agree about the sitcoms bashing white males but you dismiss it saying you don't see the relevance even though we're talking about bashing.

"Dateline did a special that they knew that black women would be responsive to. "

    1. If they dateline does a special mentioning ANY race/gender combination they will be responsive. 2. Dateline read off the negative stats about black men, not the women. 3. I said that show was to make black women feel unwanted.

"The fact is is that less than 12% of the population has a disproportionate number of books and movies...

This country used to be almost PURELY black & white. That's why some of the other minorities are still under represented in the media. We are not the biggest minority anymore but we still hold more positions & have more representation than any other minority. There have been many black shows/ sitcoms. How many Latino or Asian shows have there been?

  • @UHeardMe1stTime Dateline did a special that they knew that black women would be responsive to. Do I black black women as the producers of Dateline? No, but lets not go to the "we get blamed for everything" song and dance. However, none of those black women had a gun to their heads as they did their dance of espousing degrees and professional creds and their lack of suitable mates.

"Dateline did a special to cater to the concerns of black women."

No, it didn't. It did a special to make black women feel unwanted. And if you're going to blame black women for that, then you'd have to blame black men for the media only showing a black man's wife/girlfriend if she's not black. The media have an agenda & they show what they want to show. YOU know that or at least u should.

  • @UHeardMe1stTime Now you're getting too caught up in race. The fact is is that less than 12% of the population has a disproportionate number of books and movies catering to their very very focused form of bashing and you don't see that with any other group.

  • @fistoffries The ultimate point that I was making is that it is basic knowledge that bw will spout off far more easily than any other group when given the opportunity to play their victim card. Tyler Perry knows it, Date line knows it, go to any AA section of the bookstore and hundreds of authors know it. As a matter of fact everyone seems to know it except black women. Stick a microphone in a bw face and she will tell you everyone wrong ever done to her.

  • @UHeardMe1stTime 1) Add white women if you like, my point still stands.2) Tyler Perry is a MAN that caters to black women. c'mon you know that. 3) Dateline did a special to cater to the concerns of black women. Again, you should know that. 4) White women bash as well, agree 5) Agree on the sit coms, but I don't see the relevance to the discussion.

  • @fistoffries

Latinos actually have the same talk shows we do. We just don't see them unless we watch Spanish speaking channels. Asian are such a small % of the population that they are often overlooked in the media.

  • @fistoffries

    5. Just about every white sitcom has a stupid husband / father. They have lines like men are stupid/ dogs/ can't think with big head. Just because they don't say WHITE men, you're letting them slide like they aren't bashing their men.
