Video shows a group of large, wild pronghorn. Some of the bucks are huge. Shows a unique way of getting down and up.

**The pronghorn (Antilocapra americana), also called the pronghorn antelope or prong buck, is a species of ungulate inhabitating interior western North America. It is the only surviving member of the family Antilocapridae.[

It is thought to be the fastest land mammal in the New World. The top speed may be as high as 86 km/h. It is often cited as the second-fastest land animal, second to the cheetah. It is the fastest in sustained speeds because it can sustain high speeds longer than cheetahs. It probably evolved its running ability to escape from the recently extinct American cheetah, because its speed greatly exceeds that of extant North American predators. Its gaits also include a distinctive pronk.

Go down on knees when lowering, like an elephant.

Filmed between the Davis Mountains and Marfa Texas

  • Lol I find it kind of hilarious that some of these people commenting have never heard others sometimes call pronghorn antelopes, goats. It's just a saying! Get over it! aand btw @Stillwater900...pronghorns aren't technically antelopes. Let the smart people do the thinking ;)

  • @cjdcase These aren't pronghorn SHEEP, these are ANTELOPE

  • The reason they are not big is because they are early in their horn growth. I bet this was early in the year.....but he is right a couple of them will be good bucks. See how the hair is still around the base of the horn and the way the prong are so low to his head? That shows he has a long ways to go to finish growing.

  • Those bucks are a long ways from being "huge". None of them are over 14 inches long. Most people that talk about huge pronghorns are talking about 16-17 inch horns.

  • Neat footage, but I gotta say, I harvested a buck with my bow this past year that was decent but not Pope and Young and missed a buck the day before that would easily score Boone and Crockett...and my buck was bigger than all of these. There are definitely bigger goats out there than those in your video.

  • very cool video..tanks nice pronghorn...

  • Those are pretty small! haha

  • Tiny Tiny antelope. and they always jump fences. at least if they have to. diderr01 you are stupid.

  • @diderr01

Where did you ever hear that about breaking legs? I've seen many jump fences. They just perfer to go under unless prevoked. Never seen one with a broken leg yet. If you've skined any you would see they are built just like deer Ready to snipe hunt?

  • Those are all small speed goats, and it is true they can't jump fences they'll break their legs.
