Me playing Bach's masterpeice "Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G Major, 1st Movement - Allegro (BWV 1048)" on mandolin, mandola, guitar and bass.

Also just letting you know my Bach Album is available to buy. I've been wanting to record something like this for a while, and I finally got round to doing it! It contains several duets for mandolin and guitar, and trio pieces for mandolin, guitar and mandola, as well as four multi-track concertos played on as many tracks as was sensible.

Album can be purchased (both physical and digital versions) from my website:

  • Does anyone know what the instrument in the upper right corner is (at the beginning)? It's like a larger mandolin.

  • @coughsyrup78 It's an octave mandolin. So just like a mandolin, but larger and tuned an octave down from a mandolin (so GDAE, just like a bouzouki, but with a shorter neck)

...but I restrung it to CGDA (a 5th down from a normal mandolin) so it's acting as a Mandola in this video.

  • actually..I think GDAD is more common for a bouzouki, but I know some ppl using GDAE

  • Brilliante! Bravo!!!

  • Perfect hand position and the most relaxed right hand I've ever seen. That's very nice to see. Good work. I generally find Eastman tone thin on mandolins, but it seems to work very well for this sort of music.

  • Pretty cool
