When tsunamis, hurricanes, floods, and other natural disasters threaten, an early warning system can save countless lives. Unfortunately, many of Southeast Asias most vulnerable communities lack the infrastructure to receive such alarms. LIRNEAsia, with funding from IDRC (http://www.idrc.ca), provided disaster training and warning equipment to 32 villages in Sri Lanka. This video presents the results.
This video was produced by TVE Asia Pacific (http://www.tveap.org/) for IDRC research partner LirneAsia (http://lirneasia.net/), an information and communication technology (ICT) policy and regulation think tank active across Asia Pacific.
