i have a cornsnake that big and it took him 2 years. they shed once every 1-2 months.

You can use aspen- the shvings used for rabbit cages. Ask your local pet store. And the cheaper than fancy substrate.

He doesnt need a bigger hide, Snakes like small gaps to climb into, they feel much more safer than they would in a open hide.

wat can i use for substrate i ran out so im just using ripped paper..idk when i can make it to the store either

use newspaper, just lay it out flat, no need to rip or lay paper towel out flat.
