No this never happend. When Tobe Hooper direceted the original TCM he took inspiration from a Wisconsin serial killer named Ed Gein. Look up Ed Gein on wikipedia and read about him also read about TCM on wikipeida as well.

I live in Texas and as a kid I used to hear all these stories about how this happened just outside of Wichita Falls, Texas and that Leatherface and his family where never caught. LOL

Man I did not see the ending coming the first time I saw this...I was like OH YEAH SHE MADE IT!

and then I got bashed in the face with what happens....good twist.

I was so mad and sad after I saw the ending. Then again, it wouldn't be called the begining if any survivors survived...because then Sally would have never met Leather Face.
