Best regular season team, yes. but its doesnt mean much in the finals. the dream was tthe best player in the comp for a few years.

The Knicks were the best team in the NBA in 1994 but came up one game short. But they had everything in place including Michael Jordan retiring to win their 1st NBA Finals since 1972.
