Betty Buckley is the BEST Norma. Period.

Why are people so insecure and territorial? Can't all the ladies who have played this role be wonderful in their own respectful rights? My favorite is Patti and then Betty but that doesn't make them better than Elaine or Glenn or anyone else. I've seen them and and they were great.

@traod8 Well said! I have seen both Patti and Betty onstage and they are both brilliant. It is exciting to see what each of these legendary and talented performers brings to the role. That is what makes live theatre so exciting because the audience has the opportunity to see a one-of-a-kind performance. Brava to all of the Normas!

I worked with Ms. Buckley and she is an astounding actress and person period.
-
She's a fantastic Norma. She seems so graceful, and she really captures the silent-movie glamour, which I think some Normas failed to do.
-
That Grizabella sure can sing...and she cleans up right nice too!

Patti was fired.

Just listened to Dianne Caroll version... so I say Betty Buckley, Caroll, Glenn Close, Patti Lupone, Elaine Page, in that order of the power of the voice, and emotion.
