Parent Revolution

I made the music for this video a couple months ago. It was my first real commercial work. The idea was to compose a track that would directly reflect the feeling and connotation of the dynamic text. The client wanted the adult audience to be able to relate to the music, yet have it hip enough to signify that this is a changing generation of parents. I tried my best to convey that by layering a traditional piano sound with electronic overtones and embellishments.

Will - This is soooo legit. It's obvious that both you and Lander are talented in SO many ways, but THIS piece of work is undoubtedly the icing on the cake. Both of you guys never cease to amaze and inspire me and your thousands of YouTube fans across the world.

@subtleskeptics Of course we go around unmasking what Parent Revoludiotn does. Not Celerity, the charterschool that is pushing for McKinley's charterization is violating the law. It is offering computers to parents in exchange for signatures. This is a direct violation of the law which states that a charter school CANNOT offer gifts to parents in exchange for signatures.

My son, now in the fourth grade, has a wonderful teacher at McKinley. All the teachers he has had there since I transfered him there in the second grade have been awesome. Thank you McKinley teachers.

@subtleskeptics Wrong. change? McKinley was already implementing change, but Najera and her coconspirators have gone and played such dirty politics lying to us. Many of us parents were told by Revolution organizers that we were to be deported unless we sign your petition. Others were told it was merely to keep the school open others were told it was to beautify the school. Some of us were told to sign twice. Such corruption wants to bring about change?

@subtleskeptics Wrong. This video is about the megacorporations that Austin really represents who have destroyed education and have set it up for charter school. Look at article C of the parent trigger law. Poorly performing charter schools are exempt for the mere fact that they are charter schools. THis is NOT about reform, but about prostituting education.

Charter schools have secretive, unelected, private boards that do not allow for any parental involvement. That the kind of parent empowerment Ben Austin advocates.

Where was your hero Austin and his fellow privatizers when Petruzzi shut down Animo Justice? Why wasn't the so-called parent advocate and his shock troops defending those children, parents, and community? Where in fact, where you, @subtleskeptics? Real community activists, myself included, supported and attended events supporting the Animo Justice community when the profit minded Green Dot pulled the rug out from under their school. Here's a thought, real activists don't get paid!

@subtleskeptics funny you mention special education children, since they are significantly under-enrolled by the corporate charter-voucher schools the wealthy Austin works for. Since special ed costs more, charters eschew those students en mass. Familiarize yourself with the modified consent decree in Los Angeles, and you will see LAPU/PR, funded by the Waltons, Broad, Gates, and other privatization minded billionaires discriminate against the most needy. Austin's 200K+ check is all he is about.
