My battery died about 20 minutes into this video. This is the gameplay for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning coming out in Fall 2011.

@Slapshot0813 Nope. Fable is done by Lionhead Studios, this game is done by 38 Studios (formerly Green Monster Games). This studio is funded by Curt Schilling (MLB Pitcher), the art is done by Todd Macfarlane (of Spawn fame), and the story is done by R.A. Salvatore (write of HUNDREDS of fantasy novels). Not to mention Ken Rolston is the lead designer -- he was the lead designer on a little game called Oblivion. The potential for this game is MONSTROUS.

@haladacara And yes, I know this is a pure aesthetic whingefest, but to me, huge weapons and twisty/spiky armor honestly look as bad as Squaresoft's gunblades, *-*so quirky*-* thrift store mashup costumes, and leather belt dresses. The WoW-inspired cartoon aesthetic never appealed to me, and it's annoying how prevalent it has become.

@seagoonproductions Already have a copy. That said, the strong default armor honestly looks awful, and the weapons become twisty scrap metal at about tier three. Ebony looks reasonably classy, but draconic armor is hideous, and the daedric armor is more goofy, spiky crap. Yes, I used a mod to change the armor to suit my tastes. But, for most games, that's not an option.

Mount and Blade had a good, consistent aesthetic, and I bought every expansion/upgrade/rerelease.

Am I the only person on Earth whose /immersion/ breaks down completely with weapons like the cartoon tire mallet at 13:30?

I swear, I'll buy five copies of the next decent RPG to come out with endgame-worthy armor and weapons that don't bristle with spikes and aren't five times too large to actually carry.
