Prevention is always better than cure. Since malaria is caused by bites from infected mosquitoes, people who live in areas where there are malaria outbreaks should drain all the stagnant water from their surroundings. This will destroy the mosquitoes' breeding grounds and eradicate the problem at its source.

@LouisianaGatorGirl they built the panama canal 1915, roosevelt made sure they did that with chemical agents to rid the area of any mosquitos so they wouldn't lose more workers to the yellow fever.

africa is different.

projects, yes, but not only are corruption and exploitation stopping anything happening.. they have a huge landscape to cover as well.

as for stagnant waters: huge infrastructural changes should be made before because any puddle could turn into a breeding spot for mosquitos.
