I flew L1011's across the Atlantic from CYYZ to EGCC I don't know how many times. Flew with British Airways, Worldways, Airtransat. Safe, safe aircraft. a pilots aircraft. Not like the plastic jobbies nowadays. Fuel efficiency? Ba humbug, I'll take steel and safe anyday.

@Unlegitable well it could have been this type jet maybe.....at the time i flew i was young and didn't think anything of that. Hope one day to fly over the atlantic and to europe again.

@TheUKCanadian I am thinking that it was a L1011 I flew on from New York to Amsterdam back in 1988 on Royal Jordanian Airlines. Was there any other planes at the time Royal Jordanian could have used for Trans Atlantic flights from us to europe?

Nikolas920302 Oh, Relax!!! Ain't nothing wrong with any aircraft being 30 to 40 years old just as long as it's well maintained, You need to stop being so damn hesitant & just get out on the edge once in a while because if you don't, You're not really living!!!
