  • if the date is correct that is Donna. Maria is in the band from 11-15-77 to 11-4-78, with Donna also. This also makes it almost certain that this take is Donna. btw the best Jerry Stir It Up by far is the Deads 1991 Landover where it seems like Bruce thought Jerry would sing and vice versa!! find that tape

  • @rockcritic Thanks, never knew the dates.

  • People always have to make wise ass comments about Garcia and drugs . I'm here for the tunes not drama . jerry garcia provided a vehicle to transcend , i would hope you are on here to try to relive that not focus on his battle with drugs

  • What Jerry Garcia is there not to like?

  • This is, without question, Donna Godchaux on lead vocals.

  • @michaelsplastering "focus on his battle with drugs"

You're talking about his battle in finding them, right?

  • if your not on a battle with drugs, then your a pussy...

  • @rockcritic that show is on archive.org here:

  • @stuco the asian midget Jerry Garcia. :D

  • @patrickcommiskey One of the best comments I've read about Garcia or The Dead for that matter. It was always about the love. When they were on, it was the only place to be.

  • Donna wasn't asked to leave, but her husband was. When they kicked him out they offered to Donna that she could stay, but she, as expected declined. She was very uneaven. On songs like this she shines, but on others she is not just off key, she is in another dimension. (oops a drug reference.)

  • music is music man no drugs are necessary. these songs aren't about drugs they're so clearly about love

  • @michaelsplastering Not just garcia. I can't goto a Bob Marley song or a Hendrix tune with out seeing posts about drugs and stuff. I don't know whether to classify it as annoying or childish or what. Its just an ugly association imo.

  • yes. This shit rocks.
