College Hockey teams created for NHL 11

I used the Create-a-Team feature in NHL11 for PS3 to build customized jerseys and alumni rosters for 30 NCAA Hockey programs. This video just shows the logos and jersey designs I used. It's the best I could do with the limited options available for logos.

Hopefully the EA Sports Developers will get a deal done with the NCAA so that we can have College Hockey teams for NHL12.

If not, there are a lot of people who would like to see EA Sports add more logo designs for the Create-a-Team mode next year. Also, it would be great if they would add BLOCK LETTERING as a choice for logos. The more it's like EA Sports model for the NCAA Football Team Builder, the better.

Instructions for making the College Hockey alumni rosters:
1. go to www.hockeydb.com
2. click on 'team index'
3. find the team you want to create under a long alphabetical listing
4. after selecting your team, click on 'view alumni report'
5. The 'Alumni Report' will give you a list of all former players that went on to play pro hockey after college.
6. Just find the players who are still active and then find them in NHL11.

EA should hire you to work on the NCAA department for nhl 13 haha, you did a really good job on every team. Watching this makes me wanna make them all and create the players and start a season but I'm too lazy to do all that lol, how long did it take you to make all these?

Thanks for the kind words. I wish EA would contact me, I'd gladly take the job for free. Anyways, each team took about 45 minutes to create (15 minutes doing the jerseys, logos, city name, etc and 30 minutes doing the rosters).

I didn't buy NHL 12 because they didn't do anything new in the Create-a-Team department and didn't improve the game enough to warrant me spending another $60. I'm still using NHL 11 but will probably do the NCAA teams again next year.

Sorry, all I have is the video. I suppose you could pause the video at each team and then do a print screen (?) to save the images to your CPU.

BTW, the way I did the jerseys for teams was to go to Google Images and simply type in searches like "Vermont Catamounts hockey jersey" and I'd get exact jersey designs that I could attempt to replicate at close as possible to real life. Because of the limited logo designs in the game's create-a-team mode, I couldn't match every team...

You forgot Air Force... One of the best. I love Michigan State my self but I also like DU, Air Force, Wisconsin, etc.

I was limited to 30 teams created. Otherwise I would have added Air Force. Problem with creating Air Force is they just don't have enough alumni in the NHL or AHL yet as their program hasn't been around long enough. Same for RIT.

Respectfully disagree. Adding the Canadian Hockey League didn't ruin the game. Having the AHL hasn't ruined the game. And having all of the European Elite Leagues hasn't ruined the game. The NCAA style of hockey is very similar to the Canadian Junior Leagues. They have already added those players and teams. Adding the NCAA teams would only add another "pipeline" to the NHL.

The bottomline is more sales and more money for EA Sports. Adding NCAA Hockey could only help...

i think adding a teambuilder feature like ncaa12 and roster sharing would be sweet...i made my highschool football team in ncaa12 and if nhl made teambuilder...i could make my hs hockey team to..that would be kick ass

im creating teams now on NHL 12 ; theres a lot of useless features like creating your "home and away" goalie gear... the logos dont match the team names and i cant pick what city i want my team to be based from; only pre set cities .. this needs a lot of improvement . NHL13 better not disappoint.

I made Michigan State and i totally overhauled BGSU... and NHL 12 didn't save it. :l... like, 2 hours, for nothing. I even put alumni on the teams...

I wish they had college teams in the NHL games especially because they have all the europe teams so why not college? You did a great job on the logos and making the jerseys, if someone from EA saw this man they would (or should) give you a call to help. Great job.
