  • @Apeman1991

    Get a life

because its a global car! if it was only sold in Aussy & NZ there would be no Commodore!

  • The "conversaion" was about SS's, VT onwards after they started using 5.7 gen 3.

  • @timmehh89,

Well that is not exactly correct either.

The 6 cylinder engines in VB (1978) through to VK (1985) and the V8 engines from VB through to VT(1999) were designed and built in Australia by Holden.

The V6 Alloytec engines in VZ and VE are also designed and built in Melbourne.

  • @79HZGTS That came out wrong, I ment that they are still sourced from GM and not Australian built. Sorry for the confusion.

  • @timmehh89,

No, I didn't reply to the wrong person.

You said " without using the Opel Omega platform, but yes the engine and tranny are still carryovers"

So you were trying to say that the engines and transmissions were carried over from the Opel Omega?

There has never been a Holden Commodore (V-platform or Zeta platform) sold in Australia that shared an engine with an Opel Omega.

  • @79HZGTS I never said there was a Opel Omega with a V8? Maybe you replied to the wrong person?

  • @timmehh89,

There has never been an Opel Omega produced with a V8 engine. Holden is the only GM brand that ever put a V8 engine in a V-platform car.

  • @ranovatio10 i know the previous commodores where slightly changed opel omega's but the VE model (the one in this vid) was developed in aus, whether or not some parts carried over or not i dont really know but i do remember holden stating they put $1billion into the development. Well at least that is what we have been told, you should google it to see for yourself, anyway this is a great car

  • @timmehh89

hahaha you are so funny man, by the way i used to own an omega 2003 and after that i bought a holden commodore 2007 and i'm telling you GM owned most opel shares back in 1998 and you know at the same time she owns your little Holden just a bit before Holden fall down so GM used OMEGA platform on commodore in 99 and that's why the whole commodore and statsman shap were changed in that year, man i even sometimes buy spare parts that used in both cars lol, but still great car& i love it
