***This is Outdated, Use iboot+XMove after July 21st.***

Of course the first thing you will need is Lion, which can be found on thepiratebay.org!!

This should work with all DP's and GM

P.S. I have heard of people having to reinstall Chameleon Bootloader after they install Lion if they do so to a partition instead of a USB Drive. So if you can not boot into Snow Leopard from the hard drive after this, Boot with your iBoot CD and load Snow Leopard then Re-install Chameleon from Multibeast in order to be able to boot from the HD again. Don't worry it won't mess anything up, even if you have a dualboot machine!!!!!

Software You NEED!
1. iBoot http://www.mediafire.com/?pcgzi2dwamk9gz8
2. PathFinder http://www.cocoatech.com/
3. uTorrent http://www.utorrent.com/downloads/mac
4. Chameleon Bootloader (alternative to iBoot) http://netkas.org/?p=660
5. XPC Bootloader (alternative to iBoot) http://hotfile.com/dl/110174386/058ddad/3rr0rists_XPC_Bootloader_Lion.dmg.html

Hardware you need:
1x USB Stick
1x free partition or Another USB stick

Preparing Lion.

1. Download Pathfinder (this is an enhanced Finder App), all feature are unlocked in the 30 day trial.

2. Double click the OSX Lion DMG file to mount it.

3. Enable invisible files to be shown, in Pathfinder R. click-Show View options-Check show invisibles

4. Navigate to the Mounted Lion dmg and drag BaseSystem.dmg to Documents Folder

5. Now in Pathfinder Navigate to BaseSystem.dmg in Documents and R. click, uncheck Invisible so the item will not have a invisible flag!

6. Create a partition named Lion Install with Disk Utility (10 GB only no more)

7. In Disk Utilty select your hard drive from the left, click on the Restore Tab and for the Source you will choose the BaseSystem.dmg in Documents (must not be invisible). Drag ur new Lion Install Partition from the list on the left into the Destination Slot (Make sure erase Destination & Replace is checked). Then Restore

8. Once the dmg has been restored, Navigate to System/Installation/ in your new Lion Install Partition (which should now be Mac OS X Base System) and delete the Packages Alias

9. copy Packages Folder the from Lion Image to your new Mac OS X Base System Partition to /System/Installation using Pathfinder ... keep that invisible flag (!)

10. copy FakeSMC.kext to Mac OS X Base System Partition partition --/System/Library/Extensions Folder

11. Open Terminal and Type (just the part in the quotes, not including the quotes)
"sudo su"
then enter then your password, then type
"chown -R 0:0" those are Zeros
[then drag the FakeSMC.kext in "Mac OSX Base System/System/Library/Extensions" directory into the "Terminal.app" window, and press Enter] the type
"chmod - R 755"
[same process as above]

12. Now after you install Lion before you can boot into it you have to boot into Windows/Snow Leopard to Prepare IBOOT, and delete "Lion/System/Library/CoreServices/PlatformSupport.plist" from the Lion partition

13. Now install any kext you would like, nVenabler, Nullcpupowermanagement, and others work. Just try and see with any others. Install to Lion/System/Library/Extensions Folder

14. transfer KextUtility to Lion, if you want to use it.

Preparing iBOOT!!!

Option I: If you have Windows Installation on same PC

1. Boot into your Windows installation (on same PC where you wish to install the Mac OS Lion) and extract the iBOOT, run the installation from iBOOT_SetupToolBeta.2.exe

2. Plug in your second USB drive and format (FAT preferred). Replug the usb drive and click "Prepare iBOOT" inside the iBOOT app.

At this time you can add DSDT (place it in the DSDT folder in your iBOOT USB stick, i.e. "iBOOT USB Stick - efi - dsdt") or EFI drivers, if your hardware needs any. Checkout OSx86 wiki or insanelymac forums if you are not very sure.

Option 2: No Windows.Use Mac instead

1. Navigate to folder iBOOT - DuetToHDD. Drag and drop this file to Terminal, press space bar and type "write /dev/rdiskXsY"

Where X = your second USB's Drive number and Y is Partition number. Y should be 1 for most cases ,since its single partition.

2. Press space bar again and drag the file "Efildr20″ into terminal and hit Enter.

Booting Lion

1. When IBoot loads press u or d (slowly) to change the resolution if you see black until you can see the Interface

2. Select you partition and press enter to set the -v boot option.

3. Press Escape to set the the boot flag and then enter to start booting (this may take a few tries).

4. Once in the Lion setup, install to a blank partition or USB drive

5. Now before you start Lion again boot into Snow Leopard and delete
"Lion/System/Library/CoreServices/PlatformSupport.plist" , and add FakeSMC.kext to Lion/System/Library/Extensions.

6. And then ad an yother kext you want to try like nVenabler from within snow leopard.

..let me know how it works!!!!!!!

  • Good god guys who cares what you own. Its what you've accomplished. And mainly what kind of person you are. Are you kind, intelligent, openminded, interesting, and friend worthy person. If you can check all of those boxes then maybe you've got something to brag about (but u probably shouldn't). Money is no measure of a Man.

  • Just buy a Mac, poor fucks.

  • @Dilster3k uh, I have a brand new MacBook air 13" 256GB dummy, besides what the hell do u care internet tough guy? the unboxing is in my videos

  • @Dilster3k

Sounds like you're mad because people can get for under $500 and even $400 what you others get for +$800.

These things, being able to port Mac OS to less expensive hardware, shows how stupid Apple knows its die hard fans are.

    -

Apple fanboys and girls just care about the skin and logo of the hardware and the theme of the GUI on the software.

    -

Real computer enthusiasts like to have choices of brands, they don't like being stuck with a hardware in order to get certain software.

  • @bcta302 What is up with all the lame banter about silly stuff. Look fellas unless your talking about something quantitive like 1+1=2 or a science, nobody really knows shit. Unless its science then its just opinion and thats all. I have both a PC and MacBookAir(256GB i5) because i couldn't find a lite, powerful, beautiful PC. I love the thing because its absolutely beautiful both inside and out. Everyone loves beauty! Not to mention the need for NO Antivirus protection. Thats just me though....

Give this a thumbs up if you think strelok1911's comment is douche(ey) behavior....we get it man your not happy or something, but FYI I love u and hope you cheer up a little.

  • @Dilster3k well apple should not make it so easy to hack there products then we are just out smarting the comany

  • @Dilster3k I have an imac, iphone 4s, ipod classic, ipad and an ipod touch.

Also a PC which is more expensive than a Mac.

  • what makes apple great is they make the hardware and software

  • @phr34kme I actually come from a very rich family. My Macs don't decide that, but my fathers cars and mansions do.

  • @Dilster3k, owning an Apple hardware doesn't mean you're better than others. I own some Apple stuff, some custom computers running Windows and Linux but I really don't get what guys feels about owning Apple products. They're not even worth millions of dollars to be proud of. The richest geek in the whole world doesn't even use apple hardware (that's Bill Gates, by the way). I mean, if you want to feel you like you're richer than all non-apple users, then go ahead. But accept the fact that some

  • Hello and thanks for the tutorial... I'm trying to do this but you didn't say anything about where you got the FakeSMC.kext, I don't know if that's an empty text file saved with that name or if it is a file that I have to download from somewhere... Can you clarify that please?

    Thanks in advance.

  • @bcta302 You stated facts, but you also mixed your own opinion which isn't the right thing to do either. I don't "just" care about skin, logo and the user interface on Macs. Macs have great software, Windows have great software.

My MacBook Pro has a SSD with 2 partitions, one with OS X 7.6 and one with Windows 7 (For Games and Windows exclusive software) and my MacBook Pro also has great specs.

  • @Dilster3k

You seem to know a lot about watches and cars, but nothing about computers.

Go learn and come back making some sense. Come back talking about software and hardware, and not talking about comparisons and examples of other things.

In my other comments I stated the truth and only the truth... you replied with a childish comment.
