  • Regarding 2009, I have nothing to say until we prove ourselves on the field. But your little trip over this video is hilarious. We flattened you guys in 06. You destroyed us in 07. Why should either side try to better justify either loss more or less? And don't talk about crowds of 100,000 when you're 1-8 against UM in your last 9 (compare it to ND-Michigan and you'll see something a little less lopsided). We can both pick to see what we want (you MSU, us UM). See what's actually there.

  • By the way...regarding history and nobody being impressed...is that what you tell yourself while smirking at ND the last 2 years? Is that why you bother talking to ND fans? Is that why you watch this video? WHY is it that you care, if you're so "unimpressed"?

Why does ND have such a large fan base still? Why does ND have a TV contract? Why does ND have a special BCS clause? Why are ND's woes belabored more so than IU's by all? ANSWER: B/c ND is and always will be RELEVANT. Get over it.

  • This was pretty much the last hurrah of the Weis era. I know there was a big winning streak after the loss to Michigan (one week after the PSU rout), and it included two classic comebacks, but - this was the last time anyone could really tell themselves Weis was the guy. The Michigan debacle, the MSU and UCLA escapes, the LSU debacle, then 2007, etc. So, this was a nice performance anyway. They played hard.

  • @JB5GoIrish As a fan of both schools (Penn State and Notre Dame), 2009 was doubly frustrating for me because of all the close losses in a year full of "what could have been". PSU lost two stubborn defensive battles against Iowa and Ohio State, with the best win being over LSU. Notre Dame came painfully close to winning so many games it drove me crazy, but worst of all, doesn't go to a bowl despite being 6-6 and better than the 2008 team that destroyed Hawaii.

  • Amazingly, I'm both a Penn State and Notre Dame fan. Penn State is my top team, while Notre Dame is my second favorite. Only time I cheer against the Irish is when they play my beloved Nittany Lions. Good luck Notre Dame in 2009, I'd love to see the Irish go to a BCS bowl and win it. Use the momentum of destroying Hawaii (who isn't as bad as some people say they were, they went 12-1 the year before) to vault yourself into a BCS bowl. Or at the very least, a good non-BCS bowl.

  • Wow. Just when I thought maybe you weren't worth arguing with, you definitively proved me right. Good luck in 09. Beatdown UM.

  • And you continue to prove my point by telling me to "get over myself." I have nothing to get over. ND being Catholic has little to do with its large fanbase. Besides, Boston College should've been to split the fanbase by now if that's what the big deal was. You calling ND fans arrogant is the pot calling the kettle black. We WILL return (whether now or in 20 years) . So go ahead and fluff out your chest about 2008. It wasn't our best year by far, nor will any ND fan claim so.

  • Please,Ohio State. They're definitely not totally overrated.Besides,I said the Big Ten as a conference does not deserve a BCS bowl bid.The Rose Bowl was USC raping the hell out of Penn State.Don't get me wrong, ND got raped too, but not in the Rose Bowl.I think USC and Utah should meet. That might be a game.I am 24,so ND has done a lot more in my lifetime than Penn State.Penn State hasn't been a real force ever, other than a few years here and there.Nobody is impressd about what PSU has done ever.

  • i never said anything about our recent history which i will admit has been overrated or total garbage, and by the way the big ten has no business in bcs bowl games.

  • "any semblannce of success and accomplishment", ND has done a hell of a lot more than penn state. every team has a few bad years.
