This is a beautiful carol and there have been many versions by different artists.
Usually called "Down in Yon Forest" or "Castleton Carol".
Two of my favourite versions are by Andreas Scholl and Kerfuffle.

I'm gonna take this a step farther & say that this has to be be one of the most beautiful Christmas carols I've ever heard!
"I love my Lord Jesus above Anything" must be the title.
I'm surprised that in nearly one year only 264 people have listened and that not 1 person beside myself has commented.
I've been so moved by the melody & lyrics that I've listened 5x in a row.
What a splendid gift: in a world of so many standards repeated ad nauseum - the gift of a new carol! Again, many thanks!
