@dmmillerjr ~ not always, if you're referring to the gilded age after the civil war to the 1920's then yes, income disparity is at the same levels today.
i was talking about after the '29 crash, and the new deal issuing in equity and fairness. it created the greatest middle class of people in world history.
that has been eroded in the last 30 years due to trickle down economics.
back when working in the government didn't mean cashing in later as a lobbyist.
today lobbyists spend about 25 million per federal politician. you think they would do that if it didn't pay? then the politician goes to work for the same company he voted on legislation for. corporations practically write legislation today.
After the Eisenhower left office in January 1961, Hagerty became President of ABC News. Which would have made him Daly's boss, except that Daley abruptly resigned from ABC after they pre-empted an hour of 1960 election returns for cartoons.
It's amazing how time has changed things. If the current White House Press Secretary were to go on there everyone would know his voice since he's on TV, Radio, and the internet all the time.

@SOLE2SOUL Bugs Bunny. ABC showed that (and The Rifleman) when NBC and CBS had election returns.

I don't think Pierre Salinger (JFK), George Reedy or Bill Moyers (LBJ) were ever mystery guests on WML
