The Fellowship has been broken. Boromir is dead, Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee have gone to Mordor alone to destroy the One Ring, Merry and Pippin have been captured by the Uruk-hai, and Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli have made friends of the Rohan, a race of humans that are in the path of the upcoming war, led by its aging king, Théoden. The two towers between Mordor and Isengard, Barad-dúr and Orthanc, have united in their lust for destruction. The corrupt wizard Saruman, under the power of the Dark Lord Sauron, and his slimy assistant, Gríma Wormtongue, have created a grand Uruk-hai army bent on the destruction of Man and Middle-earth. The rebellion against Sauron is building up and will be led by Gandalf the White, who was thought to be dead after the Balrog captured him. One of the Ring's original bearers, the creature Gollum, has tracked Frodo and Sam down in search of his 'precious', but is captured by the Hobbits and used as a way to lead them to Mt. Doom. The War of the Ring has now begun... Written by Will

  • @waksibra i agree, seems so unfitting for this trailer. I was shaking my head in disgust. Lord of the rings has such a better soundtrack, why not make use of it instead of using a stock cliche song like requiem for a dream

  • @Linkolnverse thing is its not fanmade and gandalf never died

  • @kgetz3 don't rush judgement, Legolas and Gimli's characters do support a bit of fun, you cant expect hard core battle and death, Harry Potter and many great movie's have many small parts of light humour, nothing wrong with it, i really don't care for you or your comment, but this is based on book by english writer J. R. R. Tolkien, and is, in fact, the 3rd best selling novel of all time, so i wouldn't just babble on about 5 seconds of dialogue...

  • @Valbruch Well, perhaps I am wrong.

I didn't see it in theaters myself or bother watching it until a few years later.

How I looked at the trailer before is merely my view of it all.

  • @kgetz3

So the entire 3-hour movie is ruined because of certain 1-second snippets of dialogue.

I wouldn't call those moments you're describing "good writing," but you should keep in mind that these movies reflect the mode of epic fantasy. It's standard for people to get a savage thrill and sportiness in battle when it comes to stories like Beowulf or The Iliad. Gimli's character could've been stronger if he wasn't played for comic relief, but this stuff didn't ruin the entire last 2 movies.

  • @Linkolnverse

It is not fan made. It is the real official Two Towers Trailer. I even remember when it came out in 2002 because it was the first time I heard Requiem for a Dream. You tend to remember such things.

  • @PAVELDOMANOV Not even close

  • @Locke217 Just off of the top of my head. Haven't watched the movies in probably 2-3 years. But the back-and-forth between Gimli and Legolas. They are in the middle of the largest battles of their life and to save Middle Earth, and thus the world, and their sitting out their having fun!? STUPID.

"31, 32 HA!'...."That still only counts as one!" (People dying everywhere and this is the final stand)

None of that "cheap laugh" crap for the lowest denominator was in the Fellowship. None.
