I got married in Feb2003 in Sri Lanka at the Heritage Hotel(as it is now known due to being hit by the Tsunami in Dec 2003)We travelled around the country and visited the elephant orphanage which was fantastic,I even got to bottle feed the baby elephants! Our guide also took us across the road to a lesser known about river where we rode up the river on the elephants backs,groomed them with coconut shells and fed them fruit. A memorable experience!

@AnishaRJ when they grows up like this its hard for them to go back to the wild, cos other reject them. so there is another place where not much visitors. so those giants can go back to the wild. but hear some big giants have to stay here cos some of them now cant find foods cos they are now supplied with foods and etc.

@AnishaRJ yes, when they grow up to a stage where they can look after themselves they will be free to go to wild..there are a lot of disable elephants at this place ..they will be there for their whole life...
