  • @laithlaith91 there's something really lame about born again christian rockers. Yeah, it's nice to have focus in your life if you needed to get away from drugs and alcohol but they usually become total killjoys.

  • @laithlaith91

Oh wow, I had no idea he became a born again Christian, haha.

  • @TheGreaterGood80 they did listen to those earlier rock and proto metal bands , Burke Shelley is saying that because he became a born again christian in the 80's and completely warped and changed his idea of wat kind of music he wanted to enjoy (or to make it more clear, the kind of lyrics he wanted to hear in the songs) it was impossible to be a heavy rock band coming out of the early 70s and to not be influenced by bands like Purple, Sabbath and Uriah Heep and Sir Lord Baltimore and such.

  • @BlackSabbath1776 he was initially listening to those types of bands ...but he became a born again christian and completely changed his idea of wat kind of music he wants to lsn to and anything with some sort of "anti christian sentiment" he wanted to have nothing to do with

  • @TheGreaterGood80 Its got a hint of war pigs about it!

  • @bobmarleyisgod1 its Stranded by Budgie. Great song!

  • Budgie Forever!

  • @BlackSabbath1776 well all metal is rock 1 way or another but im pretty sure he meant how he didnt wanna do the same thing the other bands were doin like sabbath.

  • @BlackSabbath1776 He's not but tony bourge certainly was metal as look at tredegar for example.

  • It's really ironic how this clip starts with the song Stranded, which sounds ridiculously like Black Sabbath, and to hear Burke Shelley claim how he wasn't interested in other metal bands. If he wasn't, Tony Bourges sure was. Budgie are a great band but I find it hard to believe they didn't glean any influence from their British counterparts.
