WOULD a localised television service be a viable option in the south of Scotland?
Proposals from the UK Government could see a network of local stations begin to launch over the next four years.
Also on the table are alternative blueprints for north of the border, which could deliver local programming from areas such as Dumfries and Galloway linked to a new Scottish digital TV network.
The UK Department for Culture Media and Sport say they have had over 130 responses to a Local Media Action Plan consultation which concluded this spring.
A spokesman said: "These include a number of proposals for a network channel to support local TV, local services and services for the devolved nations."
