This plus the Jennifer Holliday version sung at the democratic convention in 1988 (also on you tube) are he only versions worth listening to. Power, Grace and emotion by both wonderful ladies.

o primeiro comentário aí não se escreve best, e sim better pois é um comparativo e não superlativo!!!!!!!!!

A Dazzling Jewel! I'll never forget watching this moment as it was simulcast "live" from Radio City Music Hall to commemorate President Reagan's signing of the bill which established Martin Luther King's birthday as a national holiday. It is a crown jewel moment for Dionne at her very best. Devastatingly captivating and deeply touching emotionally. Dionne sings a studio version of BHR on her 1970's album, "The Magic of believing". Best Dionne Ever.

Sing it!

That really was GRAND....she had one of those DIVA moments right there.

It cuts too quick....the ovation afterwards was thunderous, and Dionne deserved every shout, clap and whistle that night! She sang her butt off, and she gave one of the most memorable performances of her career, singing with such regal confidence, and love for the King family, and wanting it to be good... (and she looks absolutely beautiful here...) Way to go Dionne...

i could listen to Whitney sing this song ALL DAY LONG and read this version was better than Whitney's, so I had to hear it-WOW. As a white male, i have to say that seeing MLK while listening to DW, makes this mean more than ever

Cissy Drinkard Houston is Dionne's aunt. Aretha Franklin is NOT related to Dionne but Opera Singer Leontyne Price is. Cissy's daughter is Dionne's first cousin, Whitney Houston. Aretha Franklin is Whitney's GOd mother.

Dionne's voice was at it best in her 40's.

This was lost for a while. I'm glad it's back, this is a performance that should never be missed. she took this to the heavens above and stayed there.
