George Bush, the US president, has urged Palestinians and Israelis to move beyond United Nations resolutions that "didn't work in the past".

Unimplemented UN resolutions include a right of return for Palestinian refugees and the dismantling of Israeli settlements.

The move is likely to draw the ire of Palestinians, while the UN says it stands by its resolutions.

Members include MAJOR Human rights abusers such as

China, Iran, Cuba, Zimbabwe, Burma, Russia, Somalia, Sudan, Venezuela, and North Korea

  • With the Jewish state serving as a scapegoat, authoritarian states, including China, Russia, Zimbabwe, Venezuela & Iran, will get a free ride at a conference supposedly dealing with oppression. Countries like North Korea, Libya, Sudan & Somalia, whose citizens enjoy neither political rights nor civil liberties, will strut about as they judge Israel.

  • The U.N resolutions are a joke. If tomorrow an arab country will suggest a resolution that the world is flat it will have majority and the resolition will succeed.

  • The U.N is patethic. It is an organisation that gives automatic democratic majority to totaliterian and fashists arab countries therefore you see so many vetoes from U.S, it is the only way to stop the arabs automatic majority voting

  • @JerrySPsy

Because the immigrants in the US didnt run around openly saying they wanted there own country, that is a very big difference. And thats not entirely true, there have been many cases of rapes and murder by "minutemen" on Mexicans crossing the border.

And yes the partition plan was unfair, the amount of land was in no way fair going off the much larger Palestinian population. I still think going back to the partition plan would solve alot of the current problems though.

  • @JerrySPsy i don't resent you..I respect your years of study .The violence on both sides is insaneand YES i can understand the anger over rockets ..I am against what they do also...I don't just leave comments against Israelis I hate extremism...the Palis do have a legitimate gripe but so do the Israelis.....i dunno...I guess war is inevitable.I know that treating the Palistinians like the settlers do is wrong and throwing stones and killing Jews is wrong.i am helpless but to watch..and comment.

  • @chrisdef15 The US did not go about massacring all of its immigrants - in fact they welcomed people of races, religions, and nationalities - unlike the Palestinians who started massacring the Jews - not just the ones who had recently immigrated but ones whose families had been living there for generations. I suppose you think the UN partition plan was unfair? Other land for peace deals where quite generous but always rejected because they won't even recognize Israel's right to exist.

  • @232323C Sure they have equla rights - Israelis are just tired of provocation and dealing with those who want them and their country destroyed. The only reason the rockets have stopped is that Israel had harsh reprisals after enduring nearly 10,000 rockets over 3 years. So how are the Israelis still wanting revenge pray tell?

  • @232323C Oh I am on a propaganda payroll?! Looks like you follow right behind me. Sorry if you resent my taking Israel's side but I have studied Middle East history for 38 years and know true propaganda when I see it - and I know historical truths.

  • @JerrySPsy too bad your settlers , police and armed forces don't care about equal rights....its one thing to say it its another to do it........
