Luigi Chiarizia was born in L'Aquila (ITALY) in 1978 and started studying music at the age of 6. Mainly occupied in concerts and teaching, he also engages in composition and musicological research.
At age 19 he debuted for I Solisti Aquilani and has since participated in 80 concerts. He has studied with Rendine, Carnini, Mecoboni, Suzzani, Pappagallo, Herrera and Nenna. After obtaining his high school diploma in Sciences, he continued his studies at the University of Paleography and Musical Philology of Cremona and subsequently obtained his Degree in Organ and Organ Composition at the Conservatorio of Pescara. Afterwards he won, placing among the first places, the entrance competition to the post lauream course S.S.I.S. Music and Show of the University Cà Fosari of Venice specializing with full marks in Musical Education. He won the 3rd prize of the 11th Rosolino Toscano National Composition Competition held in Pescara. He has perfected himself with Rousset, Leonhardt, Tagliavini, Stembridge and Baiano at the Musical Accademy of Chigiana in Siena by winning a scholarship for a stable position as harpsichordist and one also in Urbino, at the 35th International Course of Ancient Music. He has played of the Accademia Musicale Chigiana of Siena (Palazzo Chigi Saracini), the Società Aquilana dei Concerti B. Barattelli (Auditorium Nino Carloni), the Istituzione Sinfonica Abruzzese (Teatro Marrucino, Teatro Ariston and Teatro S. Filippo), the Associazione Europea Organisti di Chiesa, the Seminari Musicali Internazionali of Cupello, the Associazione Organistica Aquilana, Radio Maria, Castelbasso Arte 2006, Telecom, The Ordine di Malta, the Associazione Italart. He has also performed in Rome(Chiesa del Gesù), Loreto Aprutino(Teatro Luigi De Deo), Castel di Sangro(Teatro Tosti), Piacenza, Vasto(Vespri dorgano), Bologna, Lodi, Teramo, Cremona and in Camerino where he inaugurated an Formentelli Organ. He recorded for Coop for Music (after winning the contest by the same name) and Blu Line. Mr. Chiarizia is the head organist at S. Agata in Cremona and after, at S. Stefano in Tesserete (Switzerland), is the author of many different transcriptions (Turris s.r.l. of Cremona), of an Anthology of Musical Compositions (Antologia di Composizioni Musicali) and a volume of Aphorism, both pubblished by One Group. He has been published on Diapason and Cronache Castellane dell'Istituto Italiano dei Castelli and has made his knowledge available for the drafting of the Regional Law n.75 on the protection of Organs. He has collaborated with the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese, the Coro di Voci Bianche dellARCUM, the Orchestra Giovanile Abruzzese, the Orchestra Filologica Arcangelo Corelli, the Orchestra Libera Accademia Ensamble, the Insieme Strumentale Serafino Aquilano, the Orchestra da Camera Aquilana, and also with Acciai, Carnevale, Marian, Martorana, Piovano, Losito, Pratola, Antonellini, Lucci, Sanchez, Tufano, Neri and others. His compositions have been performed by Patrizia Cerroni and I Danzatori Scalzi (coreography), by the organist Fragassi, by the harpsichordist Salcito, and have been chosen for documentaries made by the Regione Abruzzo. He plays a French-Flemish, two keyboard Johnson harpsichord (2007), a copy of the Ruckers model (1637) and an Italian Livi harpsichord (2003) a copy of the same name model of the 1600's, conserved in Berlin. He teaches at the Istituto Comprensivo di Mariano Comense and is Artistic Director for the Cultural Association Marco Dall'Aquila.
