@bengtmartin Thx for your comments but his hand does stay above the racquet during the upper body rotation until he is about to release the ball, therefore Edberg's serve has a lag. He just looks different because of the huge upper body coil.
Thanks for watching.Christophe.

Sorry, I meant "his racquet holding hand never goes ABOVE the racquet head until right before ball contact". Yet he was able to hit with tremendous spin and pace.

Christophe, I just thought I´d point out yet another way of serving, namely the serve by legendary Stefan Edberg. His racquet holding hand never drops below the racquet head until right before ball contact.

These videos are excellent. I'm finding my serve is the hardest thing in tennis to get consistent at. Probably because I don't practise it. I'm terrible at serving, but once I'm into a rhythm it's not bad. But when I play again the next session, it's gone to rubbish again. I really want to get it consistent, it's letting my entire game down.

Nice video. In my tennis club there's a speed cam (radar) in central court, sometimes I find myself serving at 110 mph with no effort, when I try harder to speed up the serve, it doesn't go faster and I get tired. The leverage of the arm gets more efficient when you are relaxed. Congrats for your video!

@xstf As long as your right leg is bent assuming you are right handed then you should be fine.
a better example of no lag is pat rafter. it illustrates better what you mean...

@poorcku Yes you are correct. I did not have Rafter footage at the time. Thanks for watching. Christophe.

OK sir! First I love your videos! Now my question for you: I know how to serve, i do all the motions and trophy pose and everything else correct, but i have a huge problem with hitting the ball at its highest point! I just can't seem to learn how to hit the ball correctly! Is there a way I can improve ot that? Thanks :)

@simobgbgbg you don't need to hit the ball at its highest point you need to meet the ball when you arm is fully extended. most players actually wait for the ball to come back to their hitting zone. Let me know if that helps. Thanks for your compliment. Christophe
