The Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125 "Choral" is the last complete symphony composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Completed in 1824, the choral Ninth Symphony is one of the best known works of the Western repertoire, considered both an icon and a forefather of Romantic music, and one of Beethoven's greatest masterpieces.

  • Is it just me or does 3:20 resemble Pachabel's canon?

  • @werq34ac probably just you :)

I hardly think that a person who speaks in such terms about a masterpiece can actually appreciate any part of it. Not to mention that there is no 'best part', for the WHOLE of it is the best.

  • Ode to joy. Bellisima

  • I am fucking my speakers RIGHT! FUCKING! NOW!

  • Absolutely beautiful, the entire symphony, amazing! Not to belittle any other composer, but Beethoven was on an ENTIRE different level when he crafted this masterpiece; I can applaud for eternity and I wouldn't be giving him his fair due (same goes for the orchestra and conductor, bravo!). I see the views drop slowly on each part; WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE THINKING? This is the most triumphant most exhilarating finale in the history of music. Thank you, Beethoven.

  • @elias12186 it's absolutely not just him this part has the exact melody and progression as Pachabel's canon from the descending major scale at around 3:24 and the next couple of seconds

  • 7:18 through 8:15 had me weeping... so beautiful

  • Beethoven crossed Chuck Norris when he wrote this song

  • listening to that is an emotional commitment.

  • Thank you Beethoven, thank you Mr. Gunter, thanks to all the talented musicians, and thank you for posting this priceless piece of human heritage for us all to enjoy. And fuck Sony with a rusty rake.
