  • mini = destroyed!!!

  • Despite the nature of the crash, the driver suffered only Mini injuries

  • @dtmfan thanks very much for clearing that up in a calm collective and educated manner, instead of the usual trolling non-sense we see on youtube.

  • @erasetoimprove The Winkelhocks are a whole family who is into motorsports. Manfred Winkelhock died 1985 - right.

But he also has 2 brothers, Joachim and Thomas Winkelhock. Both of them were popular in touring cars, but both retired a couple of years ago.. Manfred also has a son, Markus Winkelhock, who is racing touring/sports cars right now. In 2011 he is driving at the GT1 world championship.

In this clip, you can see Thomas Winkelhock, wrecking his ride in one of his last races in 2006.

  • this must be an old race, didn't he die in 1985 or something?

  • @EeZee360 and HANS device...

  • I think it's Thomas Winkelhock

  • Nice soft rolls though, as soft as one can be I guess. I always look to see if they keep their arms and head inside the car, I didn't notice if they use window nets, I'd imagine so. The door poppin open at the end does not inspire confidence though, they should be bolted shut if you ask me, obviously no one did ;O). I've been knocked out twice in a race car, one time I ended up hanging my head and arm out the window, I ran nets afterwards. Racers never think it'll happen to them. race safe guys.
