Violent relationships may lead to violent actions. People can watch out for warning signs and work out the best course of action for them to be safe.

People in violent or abusive relationships often think it is their fault, or something they have done, or that it doesn't happen to other people. Books and research from a wider perspective demonstrate that there are likely to be a number of factors involved, and not only at a personal level.
