Because in America, it's cool to be stupid. The dumber the better. ( see Kanye West, Chris Brown, Terry Bradshaw, anything Kardashian, any show on MTV, any show with New Jersey in the title, the whole state of Alabama, Eagles fans, Philly fans, Rick Perry, Michael Vick, and the Republican dismissal of anything scientific.)
