iPad 3G on a Plane: Watching DirecTV live, via Slingbox

On a flight over Florida at 30,000 ft. with free WIFI. Watching DirecTV DVR (at home) on iPad via Slingbox Pro HD and Slingplayer app. Shot with iPhone. SlingMedia app isn't iPad native yet, so this is the iPhone app on the 2x setting - not bad.

That's awesome! I'm watching DirecTV in Germany also via SlingPlayer (Windows software) but I hope I get soon a Slingcatcher but they are overpriced at the moment.

@1337neo Unfortunately they discontinued Slingcatcher awhile ago, don't know why. But iPad makes a great little TV I can move around my house, as well as on the go.

The iPad & Slingbox are both really cool. Unfortunately, there's a bottleneck somewhere because it looks laggy.

I finally got to try out Slingbox on my Sprint EVO 4G phone from 30,000 feet up on a Southwest flight, it was just mind blowing on how was able to control my cable box from 30,000 feet from San Diego to Hartford. It definitely made the flight go by fast. Now I'm even more stoked as that I am getting DirecTV getting installed this Wednesday.

Yes the iPad works on tmobile data plan. You will on get edge connection though.
