Adam Ant / David Hemmings Jacket NOT the same (addition)

I recently received a comment telling me that I was wrong in my video where I stated that the Adam Ant cavalry jacket is NOT the same one as worn by David Hemmings, in the film 'The Charge of The Light Brigade'.

The comment was "Wrong! Captain Nolan had two jackets, one had fur collar (worn by Hemmings in this video), and it was the other one owned by Adam later. Go and check out the film! "

After 30 seconds more research, I found a set photograph of Hemmings wearing the 'non-fur collar' jacket. This too is different from the 'Ant Jacket'

FYI - I'm not bloody disagreeing with you. It probably is a different jacket. However, Adam did not use the same jacket. If he had it would have fallen apart. He did wear several - Berman's had racks of the things.

ok, I'm quite satisfied, after looking at dozens of photographs, from the begining to the end, of his KoTWF period, that there was only one jacket. If you're so convinced that there are more, look through the online pics yourself. These 'dolmans' are each quite distinctive, and the gold braid is never exactly the same on two. When you discover that there was ever only ONE jacket, please let me know.

If the dolman couldn't stand up to a bit of dancing, and arm swinging, for the brief period it was worn, then the jacket manufacturer can't be very good at their job!

I've got LOADS of vintage clothing, some from the 1960's, which is, and has been, regularly worn. None of those have fallen apart.

Wow. I do happen to know what I'm talking about. I used to work in theatre and films. This looks like you're basing your conclusions on a few photos and the jacket that is in the V & A. Yes, Adam bought ONE jacket. The rest that he wore and sweated in for more than two years were MADE by Berman's and Nathan's and rented to him for his tours for 30 pounds a week. Alas though I am the fool who works in the industry. You cannot sweat on stage in ONE jacket for 2+ years and not ruin it.

The jacket in the V&A is NOT the one worn in the movie. That is obvious. Adam donated HIS Jacket to the V&A, the ONE jacket which he BOUGHT. Therefore the ONE jacket that Adam OWNED is NOT the one worn by David Hemmings, in the movie, is it?

Alternatively, to counter your point, you say that he RENTED several jackets. How could he DONATE a RENTED jacket, which he did not own, to the museum?

Of course I don't suppose it matters at all that Adam had several made? His original was the David Hemmings jacket - by the time he got to these photo shoots and all the performances? Yeah. He had way more than one.

There was ONE jacket. It was bought from a costumers prior to 'Kings Of The Wild Frontier'. This ONE jacket was displayed in a museum of costume, in London, next to a picture of David Hemmings. The ONE jacket of Adam Ant, is NOT the same one used in the film. He did NOT have 'several made'. He had NONE made. He bought ONE, and he owned ONE
