The intent happened to be 9/10ths of the entire case. The ONLY reason for Mr. Ramirez's murder was hatred of his ethnic ancestry, and as such the young men who murdered him deserve to live the rest of their short lives in a medium security prison being molested in the showers. The police will be luckier, ironically, because despite their crimes being so much more severe, if they see the inside of a cell, they'll be kept in solitary with better comfort because of their former occupation.

1 of the cops was found not guilty of all the charges. The other 2 were found not guilty of the most serious charges.
