-there are a lot of UNrelated couples who risk to have children with genetic diseases and they don't receive the same treatment

-they didn't grow up together, so the westermarck effect couldn't prevent the sexual attraction and i don't see anything wrong with this

That is the average sentence the idiotic, criminally negligent Australian courts (who hand out the penalties) and government (who make the laws) give out - and yet, life in prison for consenting adults?!?!? @Ilionabebe If incest couples have children, it is no doubt child abusive in itself. And here in this country, child molesters and get life sentence too (which is 14+ years here). The government IS protecting society and children - by making incest illegal!

@Ilionabebe No, I am not mad, nor is the Australian government system when it comes to incest sentencing. Forget about this case and think about all the other people who are incest having mutant babies. If I were one of those babies, I'd grow up hoping my parents got life sentences for what they did to me, too! An article a couple of days ago stated that the average sentence for child molestors and child rapists in Australiais only 2 & a half years! That is beyond imbalanced, it is the most disturbing and MORALLY REPUGNANT thing I have ever heard! The government's time would be better spent protecting society by prosecuting and imprisoning these monsters for life & staying out of the bedrooms of consenting adults

@BekksRich - 1) They said very clearly that the sister was sterile before they began their relationship. 2) There is more risk of birth defects if a woman over 40 has a child, why aren't you saying women over 40 who have children is abusive? Besides, what if they have *good* genes? If they had children, their good genes would be increased more than if they had children with unrelated people. It's not relevant to this case bc she's sterile, but educate yourself before giving an opinion
