Great record! I got my copy of this in 1979, when I was 17. In January of this year I got my 1926 Credenza(wind up), had the Orthophonic soundbox rebuilt. Mine has the offset turntable, but no record lifter on the left. Is that a VV-XVII or VV-130 next to your Credenza? I went with friends up to Muncie this past May & their childhood friend had a gorgeous VV-130. But he had cotton wadding stuffed into the needlebar of the No.2 soundbox! Boy, did it rattle on a Paul Whiteman Victor!

That sounds amazing for something that has no electronic amplifiers.... that must have been an expensive unit in its day... in my memory, I have seen "to be restored" gramophone consoles at an antique's store like that one, and looking inside them, they had multiple horns to try and widen the bandwidth of the sound output and increase output at the same time..

Great recording! Billy Murray is one of my favorites. This must be one of the few records of him where he crooned into the microphone.

Just found out that this had to do with a short-lived fashion in the early 20's where women rolled their stockings down to expose their knee. Shocking! The original gangsta music.

Thankies, I love this song!
Great! I love this record, gets played frequently. I'm curious, what kind of needles do you use? New, NOS, or.....?

NOS. Haven't seen any "new" ones I like honestly, but I have a huge stash of NOS Victors of all tones, I really like them best.
