Video clips of a Scottsdale High School Survival Camp run at Mt Cameron in NE Tasmania. Year 10 students are taken into a remote area blindfolded, at a simulated plane crash site they search fro wreckage and items that may be useful in their survival. Carrying a stretcher they have to reach a safe rendezvous point. Building shelters from materials they find and living on a limited amount of food found at the crash site, students are faced with some serious challenges. Started in 1975 by Jeff Jennings as part of the Social Sciences unit on Human Nature, the camp now includes a kayak challenge course and finishes at Tomahawk with physical and mental competitions between two teams.
