It's a wonderful fantasy. The people have a say. Government is self-correcting. Everything is under control. No need to be alarmed or do anything yourself, we have people working on the problem as we speak.

questions are usually answered with a yes or no first, then you go into detail. He's evading the questions. Theirs no doubt about it.

I reviewed a more complete vid and I understand the reasoning of the questioners a bit more. But I don't think any question that ends with "yes or no" is fair. You can ask a question but don't predefine what options one can use to answer the questions. You got to know that all the questioners pretend to know whether it's a yes or a no answer. If they hear a positive yes or no they would jump on it to condemn it in an "A-HA!" moment and if they heard a negative yes or no they would challenge it.

tubebunny: I agree that there isn't always a yes or no answer but come on! "Did you talk to the Pres about any of these 3 rules?" If you don't see this as a yes or no question, you need your head examined. Simplistic questions are useually how a conversion begins then, you move on to more complicated ones. When you meet some one you just ask them about the meaning of life, you first ask how their day is. The chairman couldn't get past the prediscussed talking points. definition-stonewall

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse is the baddest motherfucker in black-rimmed glasses.

The other guy should have headbutted the guy and smacked his head in with his own hammer. Now that would have added some spice to politics. I for one am sure not to have the patience to be a politician because if a one power hungry dweeb was acting up like that I'd have him oozing fear for a few happy seconds.

That is the job of any politician. To eloquently say nothing and everything to those that really want to hear them. That's why they say they apologize about their "misinterpretation of the truth" instead of saying "they told a big fat lie". The trouble is not even with the politicians, it's with the people and to a lesser extent the media. One kind of phrasing will end up being forgotten in no time will the other phrasing will end up ending your political career on the spot.

There are not always yes or no answers available. There is no such thing as a black and white world, unlike the 'preceived' views of a lot of policy makers and of the people. Most of the world is gray instead. The questions where simplistic and borderline idiotic. If you don't like the answers go make up your own answers and stop bothering people.
Why? I think he's doing exactly what oilmen Cheney & Bush want him to do as head of the EPA. That is, decimate/delegitimize/destroy the EPA, eliminate enforcement of environmental regulations & stall the Democratic-led Congress in any and all oversight & investigation.
In other words, it's a mistake to see Cheney/Bush & their handlers as incompetent - this is all quite intentional. Qui bono?
