  • awful adio...cannot hear it.

  • Fieger has tried to take over where Spence left off. I can honestly say he has. Since I have had dealings with both, they are both crooked as hell, care nothing about human rights, just the almighty dollar. Check both of their websites, its all about personal injury's. Not Cical rights violations!

  • Spence is indeed a genius.Fieger`s not.Fieger is an abrasive prick in the courtroom.

He`ll try 10 cases and ask for exorbitant sums in every case-in every trial.Occasionally, he does hit big.But he loseshis share of cases- believe me.Lot of times, the jury gets turned off by the loud abrasive greedy approach of Fieger.

Geoffrey is not in Spence`s league.

  • Noe was cited in pretrial motions. There was a major raid on Fieger`s office . Spence made a big deal of the raid at trial.

The statute says the Defendant has to know the contributions are ILLEGAL.This is the unusual situation where knowledge of the law IS a defense.

Spence won it.His closing was like

Webster`s in "The Devil & Daniel Webster".

A disgruntled ex employee informed on Geoff. This was NOT a political prosecution. Geoff was prosecuted based on clear evidence of guilt.

  • It sounds like Spence painted the whole thing as a sort of Witch Hunt too

George Bush and his friends vs. Geoffrey Feiger.

I didn't know that ignorance of the law was a suitable defense. -Maybe it was in this case, if the gov't couldn't prove he knew he was breaking the law

But maybe it is, if you can sell it to a jury and tell a good story and paint a picture, about how "this whole thing" is about a lot more than just G. Feiger

    Interesting case....

    I still admire Gerry Spence

  • Thanks for the reply

Fieger operates generally in the Detroit / Michigan area. I'm in Toledo, Ohio - about 60 miles away

We had a similar case in Toledo, where the Chairman of the local GOP party, asked about a dozen of his friends, to donate $2K each to George Bush's re-election campaign

They were high-profile people and other political office holders. Tom Noe (the GOP chairman) reimbursed them the money they paid

They were all convicted - similar charges - Tom went to Fed Prison

  • Yup.But under the statute, Fieger had to know his conduit contributions were illegal.Spence sold the cock and bull story that Geoff thought it was legal to give contrilbutions in the names of other people.

  • I have much respect for Gerry Spence..

Great man.... Brilliant mind... I like his style...

But I'm just a bit curious about the gov case against Feiger. If they thought they had such an IRON-CLAD case against him, how did Gerry Spence win the case ?

I mean.....what holes or problems were there in the case ? I would like to read a review of the case, to get a feel for how it all happened (during trial).

Did the gov't have a solid paper trail ?

  • Not that fat.Geoff-with all the money he has made-lives pretty well. He`s got to put the knife and fork down.

But Spence is such a genius. The Government had all the facts-Geoffrey was guilty as hell.Spence worked a miracle in winning this one.But then, he has worked courtroom miracles for many many years.

  • lawyers all eventually get fat...you just sit too much.
