Part 1 of the notorious final scene of Sergio Corbucci's spaghetti western "Il Grande Silenzio" (The Great Silence).

Starring Jean-Louis Trintignant as a mute gunfighter who assists a group of mormons and a woman from bounty hunters.

The ending in particular is well known for the deaths of the protagonists in the hands of the bounty hunters. This was a stark contrast to most westerns at that time in which the "good guys" always won. Sergio Corbucci was forced to shoot an alternate ending when many deemed the death of the hero as unacceptable.

  • Found all the music tracks to this movie except this one, when he walks to the cabin, cant seem to locate that one. Someone please try and locate, thanks a million.

  • Been on Wiki checking up on Kinski. He'd WW2 experience, just like a lot of spaghetti western stars.

  • Great movie

  • He should of left when she asked him to. Thing would have turned out better for them.

Thankfully he didn't listen and we got one of the best endings ever because of it. Thank goodness for machismo!

  • This scene is like the combination of a Western film and a Greek tragedy.

  • It's available on YouTube in Italian with Czech and English subtitles (taken from a German print).

  • Thanks for uploading!
