Umm ..this dude is using a very old gas mower.
Electric is ok, reel mower even better, but if you must use gas there are cleaner models now on the market. Grass is almost as efficient as trees for co2 reduction. The clippings can go back into the lawn unless you run your car off of it :)
ps Cows run on grass already.

Recycling only works on metal. The rest is actually more wasteful, to recycle paper. All the paper has to go through about 20 machines all producing smoke just to become pulp again, and all the dye that is taken out cannot be reused. When we recycle plastic, it is actually down cycled into a lesser form of plastic. Which eventually gets thrown away. Recycling only works for metal that is why in some states you can claim a deposit (5c) usually for a single can.

Paper recycling is high. Most paper mills in the past decade are designed to use recycled fiber & 78% of all US mills use recovered paper. China is now the world's largest consumer of waste paper, importing over $100 mil monthly in fiber from US. Recycled plastic demand is high. Manufacturing sectors in the US rely on recycled resins, including automotive, carpet, & packaging industries. Recycled plastic is cheaper for the manufacturer, of equal quality, & helps reduce demand for petroleum.
