I was in tears when I learned of his death. But now it feels like it does not matter.
to paraphrase Christopher, "Because I can meet Shakespeare because he is alive in the works he left behind."
I say the same for this great mind and thinker.
Hitch, you are alive in the works you left behind. Your call for intelligent honesty will live on in the minds who were inspired by your beautifully woven words.

@iPerceptive maybe really the entire last part of that speech that start with "the discussion about what is good..."
-
@iPerceptive I think you missed the best one (it's a part of the debate from which you got #1) "...the discussion about what is good, what is beautiful, what is noble, what is pure, and what is true could always go on. Why is that important? Why would I like to do that? Because that's the only conversation worth having. And whether it goes on or not after I die, I don't know. But, I do know that it is the conversation I want to have while I am still alive. "-Hitches

christopher hitchens was man who saw the world for what it was....not the delusion that that theist saw nor bland nothing some atheist see......but that everything is a wonderful world with to many arrogant people but you must look past them
-
@iPerceptive I found that very moving. Hitch was the sort of man I think we would all have loved to have as our dad - brave, caring and principled. Thanks

I also really like:
“The only position that leaves me with no cognitive dissonance is atheism. It is not a creed. Death is certain, replacing both the siren-song of Paradise and the dread of Hell. Life on this earth, with all its mystery and beauty and pain, is then to be lived far more intensely: we stumble and get up, we are sad, confident, insecure, feel loneliness and joy and love. There is nothing more; but I want nothing more.”
― The Portable Atheist

@PoppinFreshMe Ha, that's funny. Tell me to what you'll die clinging? Certainty? And your certainty comes from? Just a speck of evidence will suit me. Come on show me how boldly you "cling" to pretending to know what can't be known. Then punch someone in the back of the head for not concurring. The ultimate act of cowardice, but exactly what is replete in our sad, pathetic primate past. I'll take honesty, integrity and courage any day. Hitch will live past his death-this is proof

Long live Hitch. Thanks for posting!
His wisdom will never die. Great man and I'm happy and proud that I made a video that can display his elegant and thought provoking ideas.

@iPerceptive Bravo, very nice tribute! Simply a Hurculean intellect and a ferocious champion of truth-not for the sake of being right, but for justice.
Thank you!
