The air inside the marquee was disturbed in a way that no air on any strip of Scotland's remote western seaboard had any right to be. Both sides of the music stage were flanked by piles of speakers and the base waves shook the ribs of carousers as surely as any club venue in Glasgow or Edinburgh.

It was Ceilidh madness with SKA, rockabilly and folk all fused together with the big beat links of the DJ. At peak times, the players played, the gantry lights wheeled their columns of colour, and in the dry ice haze, the writhing silhouettes of Knoydart's party people whooped and danced and cheered beneath the pulsing canvas upon the wooden floor, and with no immediate sense of the wilderness outside.

  • ta for feedback. hope the weather is kind for you.

You might also enjoy my older, and somewhat rougher film on Knoydart, a Canadian canoe trip in to Barrisdale Bay. (See "The Deliverance Weekend" on my site)
