  • Why is it called listening in stead of feeling?

  • No relaxation in the waist whatsover. No grounding either. When they switch hands, there's a loss of connection.

This is very flawed tai chi.

  • to fuel your egos and act superior when you don't even have the basic class to try to work with someone rather than treat them like trash because you think you can do something better than them. If that's why you learn tai chi it's pretty unfortunate.

  • The only reason you picked the method of trying to vanquish someone for being wrong and make them look bad rather than the method of trying to work with the person you think is wrong to produce the best effect for everyone is because you get a thrill out of it, it fuels your ego, otherwise you would have just tried to help him come to the right conclusion by politely offering your thoughts. You should thank him for doing tai chi in a way you think is wrong because it gave you guys a chance

  • You guys are being weenies, if you wanted to be helpful you could have just made helpful suggestions, instead you wanted to try to make someone look bad and make yourself look superior by commenting without a shred of class or consideration for another human being who is just trying to contribute something.

  • @deosullivan3 :right...i'm agree with you...this is not tai chi...this is useless

  • Listening and feeling are two completely different senses. Feeling- is what is happening to you internally.

Listening- is connecting to what the other person is doing. You can learn to listen to their breathing, body movement, the sound their clothes make when they move their arm etc. Generally, information-sound is relayed to the brain which associates it to something you can recognise or experienced. Therefore, you think you "feel" another person whereas you really are "listening".

  • @mrblablablabla It is a traditional chinese term.

  • I think listening is the level of awareness that is relaxed enough for the volume of reception to be turned up enough so one can gain the detail of your partner. It's also theacuteness of perception so that you can have a forward sense of activeness in the senses to discern changes on a subtle level.

  • You're in "trouble" no matter what you do...
