i gotta say its pretty sad that most of the people leaving comments are rubbishing something that is clearly very real. are you really so inbred that you are unable to grasp such simple and logical things as pollution?

whether your views about the people in power are founded surely you cant think that an evolution of technology, in the way our societies conduct themself is a bad thing?

I'm shocked at the amount of head in the sand ostrich types contributing to this thread.

The potential risk to humanity is far too great to blithely dismiss the overwhelming body of scientific evidence as some sort of conspiracy theory concocted by a group of svengali types for their own personal profit.

Well hopefully the effect of global warming causes the Gulf Stream to cut off therefore cooling the planet :-) in another Horizon Documentary called 'Global Cooling'.

So this is full of science and they tell us contrails hang around to form uniform cloud cover?

I'm not saying pollution is not a problem, it's huge, but we first need to know what's being dumped into our collectively owned air.

It has been 2 1/2 years since this was posted, and no rise in ocean yet. Al Gore not going to like this. However, the weather modification programs are working GREAT! Producing floods across USA with droughts and fires in others, not to mention the great tornadoes and hurricane Irene!

Excellent documentary.

Dr. Hansen has talked about this phenomenon as a "Faustian bargain" where we reap the benefits of fossil fuel use without seeing the full effects of the associated warming until after their burning ceases. In the book "Storms of My Grandchildren", he explains that the current man-made radiative forcing (Watts per square meter) could be multiplied by 1.5x to 3x if all the man-made dimming particle emissions stopped.

It would be unfortunate if the 3x figure were correct.
