I am so glad that I found your explanation of this lens. It was driving me mad that my pictures looked so soft. My reds look pink and I couldn't figure out why. I wish I found this before I found this lens.

THIS IS NOT A SPORTS LENS!!! IT WAS MEANT TO BE A "HANDHELD" SUPER TELEPHOTO FOR WILDLIFE AND NATURE, NOT SPORTS!!! but yeah, it focuses really slowly, which isnt a problem to pros, only beginners, who probably wont use this lens.
