This was a Jet Propulsions Lab broadcast of the Neptune flyby on August 25, 1989. This was the video segway into their interviews and live photage of Neptune and hours later Triton. There have been many events in space travel, but the Neptune flyby and the Titan landing were the coolest I remember. This all night program was really fun. I watched a few hours, and then had to sleep for school the next day. So I popped in tape and got around to watching the rest 18 years later. :) (This has the end of Neptune All Night and a episode of Star Hustler shown around the same time.)

  • Wow, I was listening to the radio broadcast live, when this happened! I think I still have the tape. Jack Horkheimer rules,

  • Thanks for putting up the "Neptune at Night" series... its amazing to see how much tech has changed since then!

  • In the words of Jack Horkheimer -

" This is the last great picture show ". That lonely little robotic ambassador to the planets took us there by remote control. I stayed up all night & well into the afternoon tanked up on coffee watching coverage of Voyager II & videotaping it, everbody covered it. Will we do it again ?
