Here's Jason's American Gladiator audition video from the fall 2008. Jason was cruising from DC Training and decided to try and get on AG as a competitor. This video shows a brief glimpse into a typical day for Jason during this time period. Feel free to laugh at the agility drills and versa-climber segments! And, no he hasn't heard back.

  • what was your gym routine like during this time?

  • @RawDeluxx

A lot of "practical" lifts like dips, chins, pullups, etc. with a quicker tempo than I usually use to build some ballistic strength.

  • I bought the DC training video, and although I haven't finished it yet, Im looking for a little more detail on warm up sets? how many reps should I be doing and how long should I be taking in between those two sets? how many reps?

  • It's totally an individual thing. I personally do 1-2 really light sets of 10-15ish quick reps to get some blood in the muscle. Then depending on how heavy I'm going on the exercise I'll do 1-3 sets of low reps with progressively heavier weights to get used to the weight. For example if I'm benching 405 I'll do 135 for 10-15, 225 for 3-4, 315 for 2-3, then start my real sets.

  • This video just made me feel like a looser, It's crazy how much you have accomplished. Then to top it off you have a child. I need to start being more productive.

  • LOL naw man that stuff ain't much

Yeah I'd throw in some random moves just to hit some of the smaller muscle parts. I don't have a template but try and focus on bodyweight exercises (you can add weight if you want). Also do Olympic lifts like clean and jerk, snatches, etc. for explosive power. Plyometrics wouldn't hurt either.

  • a 5'9 gladiator...yah that would never happen

  • i bought your video, still waiting for it to come. Hoping I can use weighted dips in my routine as well as mostly free weights but will have to see the video
