Whoa, that's REALLY cool! I didn't know cool old stuff like that was still in service in the US. Living in Kalifornia with the draconian pollution laws SUCKS! Thank for posting!

Didn't the tapered profile of the long hood on BL1s & 2s help the crew get better rear visibility for switching?
-
@bigdan4712 theres also a MONON BL-@ operating in central KY at the KRM

Nice looking locos.Great footage.

No doubt that's the oldest loco that's ever pulled those CSX hoppers.

Yeah, well when EMD manufactured the GP-7 & the GP-9, it's designer thought of it as such an ugly diesel that no railroad fleet would want to purchase it. He thought wrong
-
really really neat video thanks
-
good looking FA and F unit. However....entirely too slow
-
Marland! Maryland, still enjoy your videos Jack

@CSX trackworker You're right, but only for a short while. Afterwards, EMD overruled with the GP7, & then the GP9.
Whats with the covered hopper at the end of the passenger train?

Was something special going on? Interesting to see these older units running.

It was a weekend photographers special heading out of Elkins later in the morning. I have another clip in here with a running meet with the trains passing each other. Thanks for looking. Jack...
